X.25 Packet Switching

Our X.25 solution allows you to achieve your NGN migration goals without affecting service or revenues. The solution successfully migrates all X.25 access methods, including X.31, dial (triple X), and leased line. It consists of three components:

  • The Always-On Server (AOS) provides a direct replacement for existing public X.25 packet switching nodes. The AOS supports both traditional X.25 access and IP access over an NGN infrastructure.

  • The Service Managed Gateway emulates the existing line interface NTU and then encapsulates the X.25 traffic in XMP (X.25 Migration Protocol) for transmission to the AOS over IP, DSL, or fibre access.

  • Activator is the Zero Touch™ management system that remotely registers, configures, and upgrades the SMG and AOS network appliances.
