Always-On Server (AOS)
The AOS provides a telco-grade platform for the continued support of legacy services such as 2/4 wire analogue leased line, ISDN, X.25 and Frame Relay over a fully supported NGN infrastructure without disruption to the end user, meaning that more customers and revenues are retained. The AOS is located in the central office, supporting a high number of legacy connections in a single device. It is built on state of the art server technology and provides a modern flexible architecture that enables legacy service delivery with minimal operational resources.

Supports up to 2000 users over IP
- A user is an SMG or an LAPD PLL.
The AOS is delivered on a compact PCI (cPCI) hardware platform, which is widely used in telecommunications environments. The system supports hot swap, enabling cards to be replaced with the power on and without interrupting traffic.
Management
Direct management of the AOS is supported using a Windows management application, which connects to the AOS over TCP/IP. The management application supports configuration and diagnostic functions. SNMP is used for event and status functions. Per-subscriber configuration support is provided by the Virtual Access Activator Management System.
Power Input
- Triple redundant load-sharing PSU options
- Multi voltage 100v to 240V AC or 48v DC
- Power consumption 140 watts max
Analogue Leased Line
- FXS/FXO
- 2/4 wire E&M
- 2/4 wire ETSI
- G.711 transport over IP
Analogue lease line uses a different chassis to that shown above. Please see the AOS Analogue datasheet for more information.
