Troubleshooting

If you are unable to connect to your service from a local computer, follow the steps below before you contact your service provider.

  1. Check that all the SMG cables are correctly connected. To check you have inserted the correct cable, read the Cable table.
  2. If the cables are correctly connected, click the link to the appropriate LED table below and check the LED activity.

    For information about the front LEDs, read the Front LED table.

    For information about the Ethernet LEDs, read the Ethernet LED table.

    If you have an optional ports, there are further LEDs on the back of your SMG. These LEDs indicate various connections depending on your gateway's specification.

    For information about the serial LEDs on the back of your SMG, read the Serial LEDs table.

    For information about the E1/T1 LEDs on the back of your SMG, read the E1/T1 LEDs table.

    For information about the 3G LEDs on the back of your SMG, read the 3G LEDs table.

  1. After you check that all of the cables are properly connected and the LED lights are working correctly, Using a pen tip, press the RESET button and hold it in for approximately three to five seconds, then release. The LEDs will go out, then the LED sequence will restart. When the CONFIG LED flashes quickly, the factory configuration is loaded.
